AVA · Built for independent restaurants & multi-location groups

Every voicemail is a table at someone else's restaurant. AVA seats them at yours.

The host stand can’t be two places at once. 58% of restaurant calls go unanswered — split between the after-close hours when nobody’s in the building and the 5–8 PM rush when nobody can pick up. AVA covers both. Books the reservation, takes the takeout order, handles the catering inquiry. Your team stays on the floor.

Right now, 58% of restaurant calls go unanswered. During peak hours, the miss rate is even higher.

Six numbers from independent hospitality industry research. Each one is a table, a takeout order, or a private dining inquiry your restaurant just lost to the place down the street.

How it works

Four steps. Most shops are live in 7 days.

No new phone system. No new POS. No new reservation platform. AVA layers in front of what you already run. Your FOH team works the same way, just without the phone constantly interrupting service.

What AVA covers

Reservations. Takeout. Everything else.

Built for the three call types that drain a restaurant’s front-of-house — and the high-value calls (private dining, catering, large parties) that get the worst treatment today because they take the most time.
Reservations

Books live against OpenTable, Resy, SevenRooms, Tock

AVA checks live table availability for the requested party size, time, and seating preference. Applies your deposit and credit-card-hold rules. Handles modifications and cancellations. Confirms with the guest on the call. Writes to your reservation platform. Your host walks in to a clean book, not a wall of voicemails.
Takeout & Order Capture

Catches the $38 takeout order during service

For takeout calls, AVA walks the guest through your menu, captures the order, applies modifiers and special requests, takes payment if you want, and pushes the ticket straight into Toast, Square, or Olo. The kitchen sees it the same way as any in-house ticket. No phone tied up during the rush.
Allergens, Hours, & FAQs

Answers the 10 questions that interrupt service most

“Are you open Christmas Eve?” “Is the bolognese gluten-free?” “Do you have a parking lot?” “Can I bring my dog to the patio?” AVA answers consistently, in your voice, with your real policies, so your host isn’t pulled off the floor for the tenth time tonight to confirm tomorrow’s brunch hours.
Private Dining & Catering

The high-value inquiry that used to die in voicemail

Catering requests, private dining inquiries, and large-party bookings are your highest-value calls, and currently the most likely to die in voicemail because they take the longest. AVA captures the date, party size, dietary needs, budget signal, and contact info, then routes to your events manager with full context. No more “they called Tuesday, never heard back from us.”

Drops into your reservation, POS, and takeout stack.

No replatforming. AVA writes reservations, orders, guest notes, and call summaries directly into the systems your FOH team already opens every shift.

When restaurant calls actually happen

A typical week — and the windows you literally aren't there.

When restaurant phones actually ring. Notice the dinner-rush spike when your host can’t answer, and the after-close surge when nobody’s in the building. Most of those calls go to voicemail. Most never call back.

● Tonight’s reservation

It's Saturday at 7 PM. Your phone is about to ring.

A guest is calling for a table-for-six at 8 PM tonight. Your host is bussing a table because you’re short-staffed. Here’s what happens next, played twice: once the phone gets answered, once it doesn’t.
● Without AVA
×Sat 7:14 PM — phone rings 6 times. Host is mid-greet.
×Guest hangs up. Searches “italian restaurant tonight” on Google.
×Books with the place 6 blocks away that uses Resy with online booking
×Tomorrow you don’t even know she called. Or that she just became their regular.
Tonight’s loss −$510 table + a regular’s ~12 visits/year
● With AVA

Questions

What restaurant operators ask first.

If yours isn’t here, ask us live on the demo. We’ve answered them before.
Yes — direct API integrations with OpenTable, Resy, SevenRooms, Tock, and Yelp Reservations. She checks live availability for the requested party size, time, and seating preferences. Applies your deposit and credit-card-hold rules. Handles modifications and cancellations. Writes the reservation directly into your platform with guest notes and dietary flags. Your host walks in to a clean book, not a stack of voicemails.
Yes. For takeout calls, AVA walks the guest through your menu (including specials and 86’d items), captures the order with modifiers and special requests, handles tip and payment if you want her to, and pushes the ticket straight into Toast, Square for Restaurants, or Olo. The kitchen sees it identical to any in-house order. Your phone line stays free during the dinner rush.
These are typically your highest-value calls, and the most likely to die in voicemail because they take the longest to handle properly. AVA captures the event date, party size, occasion, dietary needs, budget signal, contact info, and any specific requests, then routes the lead to your events manager with full context within minutes. No more “they called Tuesday, we never followed up.”
For factual allergen questions (“does the bolognese contain dairy?”) AVA answers from the menu data you provide during onboarding. Same data your servers reference. For complex cases (a guest with multiple severe allergies, or asking whether the kitchen can accommodate a specific cross-contamination concern), AVA escalates to a manager. You set the escalation rules; she follows them precisely.
No. AVA picks up the calls your host can’t — during service when they’re seating guests, between shifts, after close, on closed days. Your host keeps doing the human work: greeting guests, managing the floor, handling complex situations, building relationships. AVA covers the call volume that’s currently going to voicemail or worse.
She sounds warm, present, and like your restaurant. We train her on your voice during onboarding — formal fine-dining tone vs. casual neighborhood spot vs. boutique cocktail bar. Most callers don’t realize they’re talking to AI; the ones who do tend to be pleased they got an instant answer instead of voicemail. You can also choose to have her introduce herself transparently if you prefer.
AVA greets each guest in English or Spanish, matching their language so a reservation or catering call never stalls at hello. Additional languages available on request. In bilingual markets, that’s reservations you’d otherwise lose the moment a Spanish-speaking guest reaches a voicemail in a language they don’t use.
AVA never holds raw card data. When she takes a deposit or credit-card hold for a reservation or a takeout payment, the card goes straight through your existing tokenized payment path (Toast, Square, Stripe Terminal, your reservation platform’s processor) — same flow your host would trigger, never stored on AVA’s side. Call recordings and transcripts are owned by your restaurant, retained on a policy you set during onboarding (default: 30 days), and deletable on request. Guest PII follows the same handling rules as your reservation platform’s CRM.
Most restaurants are live in 7 days. We recommend 1-2 weeks of setup runway: importing your menu, configuring your reservation policies, mapping escalation rules, and integrating with your reservation platform and POS. After that, AVA goes live on overflow, after-hours, or full coverage — your call.
